The following crimes were reported in Mt. Airy from October 4 to October 10, 2008.

THEFT FROM AUTO,ATTEMPTED AUTO THEFT
October 4: 6400 block Ardleigh St. – Passenger’s side window of vehicle broken. Taken were registration and insurance cards.
October 4: 6400 block Ross St. – Complainant returned to find that entry to his 2005 Volkswagen Passat had been gained. Taken were CDs and change.
October 4: 6300 block Sherman St. – License plate removed from 1998 Chevy Lumina.
October 9: 200 block West Hortter St. – Passenger’s side window of vehicle broken. Taken were coach bag, Delta bag, garnet ring and earrings, Panasonic digital camera, Mastercard, checkbook and cash.
October 10: Germantown Ave. and Washington Ln. – Complainant stated that he left wallet in unlocked vehicle. When he returned, it was missing.

STOLEN AUTO
October 4: 300 block West Duval St. – White 2001 Nissan Maxima stolen.
October 7: Location not given - Blue 1992 Chrysler Lebaron stolen.
October 8: 6900 block Anderson St. – Complainant was reporting that her 2006 Chrysler 300M had allegedly been taken without permission by family member when police informed her that it had already been recovered. Family member had been involved in an accident on Woodbrook Ln.
October 9: 400 block East Wadsworth Ave. – Blue 2006 Chrysler 300M stolen.
October 10: Unit block West Washington Ln. – White 1992 Ford Econoline stolen.

BURGLARY
October 6: 1000 block West Cliveden St. – Complainant returned home to find that entry had been gained through back door by breaking door window. Taken were jewelry, IBM Thinkpad and cash.
October 10: 400 block East Allens Ln., 12:25 p.m. – Police responded to burglar alarm at location. Upon arrival, police noticed  broken basement window and door ajar. No entry gained. Police surveyed the area for suspect with negative results.
October 10: 600 block East Allens Ln. – Complainant stated that offender gained entry to location through basement window. Police found gym bag in kitchen containing computer monitor and keyboard. Nothing apparently taken.
October 7: 6700 block Germantown Ave. – Complainant returned home to find that offender had gained entry to location through unlocked rear door. Taken were bottles of apple juice, jackets and wallet containing cash.

THEFT
October 6: 7300 block Emlen St. – Complainant stated that unknown offender took various sized aluminum drainpipes from location.
October 6: 6300 block Chew Ave. – Complainant stated that unknown offender took her bag from outside of her home. Taken were bag and medication.
October 8: 100 block West Sharpnack St. – Complainant returned to location and found that her access card had been removed from her purse.

ROBBERY
October 4: Unit block West Nippon St., 2 a.m. – Complainant stated that he was approached by first offender who asked him for a light, at which point first offender produced black and silver handgun, forced complainant up against  wall and stated “look down.” Second offender went through complainant’s pockets. Both offenders then fled westbound on foot on Nippon St. Taken were wallet containing cash, cigarettes and LG cell phone.
October 4: Unit block West Mt. Airy Ave., 2:10 a.m. - Complainant stated that he was approached by first offender who was carrying a black handgun. First offender then stated “face down,” grabbed her purse and both offenders fled westbound on Mt. Airy Ave. Suspects were later stopped and identified.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
October 10: 7500 block Germantown Ave., 2 p.m. – Complainant stated that she was involved in physical altercation with acquaintance when acquaintance allegedly stabbed her in arm with  pocketknife.
