The following crimes were reported in Mt. Airy from October 11 to October 17, 2008.

THEFT FROM AUTO,ATTEMPTED AUTO THEFT
October 11: 6600 block McCallum St. – Front window of 2008 Honda Civic broken. Taken were CDs, iPod Nano, cell phone and iPhone charger.
October12: 200 block West Duval St., 6 p.m. – Rear passenger’s side window of 2003 Nissan Maxima broken. Nothing taken.
October 14: 500 block Vernon Rd., 5:20 a.m. – Complainant found offenders attempting to take vehicle. Offenders fled westbound on Vernon Rd. when they spotted complainant. Nothing taken but steering wheel was damaged.
October 15: 6800 block Emlen St. – Passenger’s side window of vehicle broken. Taken was Tom Tom GPS system.
October 16: 6800 block Emlen St. – Passenger’s side window of vehicle broken. Taken were Glock .40 caliber handgun, wallet, driver’s license, military ID, Mastercards, ATM card and cash.
October 16: 600 block West Johnson St. – Complainant stated that offender took Tom Tom GPS system from first vehicle and scratched second vehicle.
October 17: 7100 block Cresheim Rd. – Driver’s License and insurance card taken from unlocked vehicle.
October 17: 200 block West Sharpnack St. – Rear hatch door of 2008 Ford Escape forced open. Taken was laptop computer.
October 17: 6700 block Lincoln Dr. – Right passenger’s side window of Volkswagen Jetta broken. Taken was GPS system.

STOLEN AUTO
October 13: 6600 block Chew Ave. – Complainant left 2002 Mercury Sable running and unattended. When he returned, vehicle was missing. Vehicle later recovered at location. Vehicle was unoccupied and had been involved in an accident.
October 16: 1300 block East Duval St. – Complainant’s family member stated that she believes complainant’s vehicle was towed without permission. Vehicle had a flat tire and dead battery.

BURGLARY
October 11: 600 block East Gorgas Ln. – Complainant returned home to find kitchen window broken. Unknown what was taken.
October 16: 6300 block Wissahickon Ave. – Complainant returned home to find glass of rear sun room broken. Taken were TV, Dell computer and digital cameras.
October 16: 6600 Sprague St. – Complainant returned home to find that entry had been gained to family member’s apartment. No signs of forced entry.
October 17: 7400 block Boyer St., 4:25 a.m. – Complainant stated that she awoke to her dog barking. Upon further investigation she noticed her kitchen window had been opened and items were missing. Complainant saw offender leave. Taken were leather bag, brief case, Dell laptop computer and cash.

THEFT
October 11: 6800 block Lincoln Dr. – Complainant stated that offender took two off-white planters with lion heads from property without permission.
October 13: 7400 block Crittenden St. – Complainant stated that offender took copper cutter from front of location without permission.
October 14: 200 block West Mt. Pleasant Ave. – Complainant stated that offender took cash from her wallet without permission. Others have access to location.
October 14: 6700 block Lincoln Dr., 12 a.m. – Complainant was unloading groceries from vehicle when she left her purse unattended. When she returned, she saw offender go into the trunk, grab her purse and run. Taken were Coach Leather purse, credit cards, ID and cash.
October 14: 6300 block Musgrave St. – Complainant stated that .38 caliber revolver was missing from its usual location.
October 15: 7000 block Germantown Ave., 8:47 a.m. – Complainant stated that offender was attempting to leave location without paying for items. Offender was unsuccessful and had fled before police arrived.
October 15: 6600 block Ardleigh St. – Complainant stated that acquaintance allegedly took items from complainant’s purse while she was in the bathroom. Taken were driver’s license, Medicare card and Social Security card.
October 15: 6600 block Greene St. – Complainant stated that offender took bicycle from side of house without permission.

ROBBERY
October 11: 6300 block Stenton Ave., 2:45 p.m. – Complainant stated that while using the ATM, offenders approached him, pointed guns at him, took cash and fled.
October 14: 6800 block Milton St., 11 p.m. - Complainant stated that he and witness were sitting in a car at location when offenders approached them, demanded money and punch complainant in the face. Offenders fled with iPhone.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
October 13: 1300 block East Washington Ln., 12 a.m. – Complainant and acquaintance became involved in a verbal altercation at drive through window over an incorrect food order. Offender then allegedly came outside, pointed a black handgun at complainant. Suspect arrested.
October 15: 7400 block Stenton Ave., 12 a.m. – Complainant stated that he and acquaintance were involved in a verbal altercation, at which point acquaintance allegedly took out a knife and pointed it at him.
October 16: Unit block East Hortter St., 12 a.m. – Complainant stated that she was involved in a verbal altercation with family member at which point family member went downstairs, allegedly picked up a butcher knife and returned to complainant. After allegedly making threats and holding the knife to complainant’s throat, offender fled. Suspect arrested.
