THEFT FROM AUTO,ATTEMPTED AUTO THEFT October 18: 200 block West Mt. Pleasant Ave. – Front windshield and rear right vent window of 2002 Honda Civic broken. Taken were iPod and change. October 18: 700 block East Phil Ellena St. – Window of vehicle broken. Nothing taken. October 19: 300 block Glen Echo Rd. – 2004 Jeep Liberty entered in unknown manner. Taken were GPS system and CDs. October 19: 6800 block Lincoln Dr. – Car lock of 2003 Accura jimmied, taken were IBM laptop, wireless internet card, and cellphone. Police later recovered cellphone. October 20: 7200 block Cresheim Rd. – Complainant’s and two neighbors’ vehicles broken into. Driver’s side window of 1994 Toyota broken. Driver’s side window of 2008 Honda broken. Passenger’s side window of 2002 Jeep Cherokee broken. Taken were car radio and loose change. October 20: 200 block West Upsal St. – Front driver’s side window of 2004 Honda Civic broken. Trunk opened. Unknown what was taken. October 20: 6300 block Greene St. – Right front window of 1995 Nissan Pathfinder broken. Taken were wallet, cash, debit card, driver’s license, Social Security card and personal papers. October 20: 6300 block Greene St. – 2006 Ford Focus entered in unknown manner, ignition tampered with. Taken were wallet, ID cards, back pack, volleyball and volleyball equipment. October 21: Unit block East Mt. Airy Ave. – Rear driver’s side window of 2000 Honda Civic broken. Entry gained but nothing taken. October 22: 300 block West Johnson St. – License plate removed from 1999 Hyundai Elantra. October 22: 7100 block Ardleigh St. – License plate removed from 2001 Oldsmobile Alero. October 24: 300 block East Hortter St. – Driver’s side window of 2002 Ford broken. Taken was DVD player. October 24: 300 block East Mt. Airy Ave. – Red 1996 Mercury Villager entered. Taken were registration and insurance cards, assorted tools, CDs and carrying case. STOLEN AUTO October 20: 100 block Nippon St. – Tan 1984 Chevy Monte Carlo stolen. October 22: 6600 block Belfield Ave. – Gray 1996 Buick Rivera stolen. BURGLARY October 18: 6800 block Greene St. – Side kitchen window broken at location. Taken were wooden jewelry box and jewelry items. October 19: 100 block West Johnson St., 12:55 a.m. – Complainant stated offender allegedly pulled her apartment door open without permission, breaking upper lock. Offender then allegedly threw punch at complainant, slapped complainant’s cell phone from hand. Suspect arrested. October 20: 200 block East Johnson St. – Entry gained to apartment through front door. Apartment ransacked. Medication taken. October 20: 6700 block Lincoln Dr. – Door kicked in to location. Taken were toaster oven, generator, wires and service cables. October 20: 200 block East Sedgwick St. – Complainant returned home to find family member’s belongings missing. No signs of forced entry. Taken were TV, Blu-ray player, X-Box 360, games, Playstation 2 and sunglasses. October 21: 100 block West Upsal St. – Front door window broken out and door left open at location. Taken was IBM Thinkpad. October 22: 200 block East Sedgwick St., 9:10 p.m. – Police responded to call of break-in in progress. Upon arrival, complainant stated heard offender enter through the rear kitchen window. Taken were tote bag, bank cards, driver’s license, health insurance card, gift cards and cash. October 24: 6900 block Weatham St., 5:30 a.m. – Witness stated that she heard a loud noise at 5:30 a.m. When she came outside she noticed three offenders attempting to gain entry to complainant’s house. Offenders fled eastbound on Durard St. No entry gained. October 24: 200 block West Mt. Airy Ave. – Rear door screen ripped out and interior door kicked in at location. Rear garage also broken into. Taken were Canon digital camera, assorted jewelry, cash and Citizen’s watch. October 24: 100 block Meehan St. – Complainant awoke to find second floor back bedroom window open and back door open. Nothing taken or out of order. October 24: 6300 block Chew Ave. - Front door kicked in. Taken was safe containing cash and jewelry, and Magnavox TV. THEFT October 21: 7000 block Germantown Ave. – Complainant stated he observed offender allegedly attempt to take items from location without paying. Suspect arrested. October 21: 6300 block Stenton Ave. – Complainant stated that he observed offender allegedly place items into his pants and jacket and attempt to leave without paying. Suspect arrested. October 22: 100 block East Sharpnack St., 3:17 p.m. – Mongoose bike taken from porch. October 23: 7000 block Germantown Ave., 9:52 a.m. – Complainant stated that offender allegedly attempted to leave store without paying for items. Suspect arrested. October 24: East Sedgwick St. and Germantown Ave., 12 a.m. – Complainant stated that two offenders approached her, grabbed her purse and fled. Witnesses chased offenders and recovered complainant’s purse. Offenders fled in vehicle. ROBBERY October 20: 6500 block Wissahickon Ave., 1:19 p.m. – Complainant approached by offender as she was carrying groceries into apartment building and punched her in the face. Offender took complainant’s pocketbook, fled southbound on Wissahickon in vehicle. Taken were pocketbook, cash, credit cards, ID. October 21: 400 block West Mt. Airy Ave., 12:19 a.m. – Complainant stated that offender threw her to the ground and fled with brown Coach bag containing cell phone. October 22: 6400 block Stenton Ave., 12 a.m. – Complainant approached by offenders who put gun to his stomach, pulled him into back alley and took items. Offenders fled with Sprint cell phone and wallet containing ID. October 23: 6300 block Moylan St., 9:10 p.m. – Complainant approached by offender who was mumbling something about her purse. Offender then pushed complainant, grabbed her handbag and fled southbound on Moyland on foot. Taken was leather satchel containing camouflage cloth wallet, cash, credit and debit cards, driver’s license and personal papers. October 24: 400 block East Phil Ellena St., 9:16 a.m. – Complainant in garage when offender approached her and demanded keys to her vehicle. Offender stated that he had a gun and showed it to her. Complainant complied and ran into house. Taken was gold 2000 Chevy Venture. AGGRAVATED ASSAULT October 18: Unit block West Sharpnack St., 8:45 p.m. – Complainant stated he and offender were involved in verbal altercation, at which point offender allegedly sprayed complainant in the face with Mace. October 19: 600 block East Vernon Rd., 7:35 p.m. – Complainant stated that a single gunshot came through the door, ricocheted off floor and into opposite door. Witness looked into hallway, noticed two offenders standing and knocking on a neighboring apartment. Several seconds later witness heard three more gunshots. No injuries. October 24: 6300 block Morton St., 10:15 p.m. – Complainant stated that he was having verbal dispute with acquaintance, at which point acquaintance allegedly threw coffee mug, hitting complainant in head. Suspect arrested.
