The following crimes were reported in Mt. Airy from November 1 to November 7, 2008.

THEFT FROM AUTO,ATTEMPTED AUTO THEFT
November 1: 400 block West Mt. Airy Ave. – Complainant stated that debit and credit cards taken from vehicle in unspecified way. Offender used cards to make purchases.
November 2: 6300 block Wissahickon Ave. – Rear hatch door of 2003 Audi left unlocked. Taken was pair of nylon pants.
November 2: 6300 block Wissahickon Ave., 10:30 a.m. – Complainant stated that she observed offender attempting to break into neighbor’s car. Complainant screamed at offender, at which point he fled westbound on Cliveden St.
November 2: 300 block Mt. Pleasant Pl. – License plate removed from 2007 Audi.
November 3: 400 block Montana St. – front passenger’s side window of 2004 GMC broken. Taken were keys, iPod and radio faceplate.
November 3: 400 block Hortter St., 5:55 p.m. – Complainant observed offender sitting in right front seat of her vehicle going through her belongings. Offender then fled southbound on Greene St. Nothing taken.
November 4: 7000 block Cresheim Rd. – License plate removed from 2006 Chrysler.
November 4: 1000 block West Cliveden St. – 2006 Infiniti FX entered in unknown manner. Taken were Garmin GPS system and Swiss Army knife.

STOLEN AUTO
November 6: 300 block East Gorgas Ln. – Green 1997 Nissan Quest stolen.
November 7: 1300 block East Cliveden St. – White 1999 Ford Explorer stolen.
November 7: 700 block East Tulpehocken St. – Burgundy 1992 Oldsmobile stolen.
November 7: 200 block East Sedgwick St. – Black 1992 Buick LeSabre stolen.
November 7: 1300 block East Cliveden St. – Maroon 1992 Jeep Cherokee stolen.

BURGLARY
November 1: 1000 block Kitchens Ln. – Entry  gained through open second floor bathroom window. Taken were engagement ring and wedding band.
November 2: Unit block East Durham St. – Entry  gained in unknown manner. Taken were two sets of keys from complainant’s purse.
November 3: 6300 block Stenton Ave. – Entry been gained through rear door by breaking lock. Taken were various eyeglasses.
November 3: 600 block Vernon Rd.11:15 a.m. – Complainant stated that family member observed offender looking into kitchen window. Lock on window was broken. No entry gained. Nothing taken.
November 3: 200 block West Upsal St. – Offender entered apartment complex and took items from maintenance room. No signs of forced entry. Taken were Makita Sawzall, Makita drill and Makita grinder.
November 5: 6400 block Greene St. – Master bedroom entered through unlocked window. Taken were Samsung TV, DVD players, jewelry, Comcast cable box, leather jacket and cash.
November 6: Unit block East Sharpnack St., 10:03 a.m. – Police officers responded to call of burglary in progress. Upon further investigation, they observed offender allegedly running from rear of property. Suspect arrested.
November 6: 6400 block Wissahickon Ave. – Entry gained through left side door. Second floor window broken, bedroom ransacked. Taken were watches, rings, necklaces and bracelets.

THEFT
November 3: 6400 block Lensen St. – Complainant stated that she got into verbal altercation with acquaintance and left the house. When she returned, acquaintance and Taurus gun were allegedly missing.
November 5: 6400 block Ardleigh St. – Complainant stated that unknown offender took contents from package. Taken were prescription medications.
November 5: 200 block Garrett St., 6 p.m. – Complainant’s  T-Mobile cell phone taken from bus when she was not looking.
November 7: 6300 block Stenton Ave. – Pacific mountain bike  taken from location.

ROBBERY
November 1: East Gowen Ave. and Sprague St., 3:30 a.m. – Complainant and witnesses approached by offenders with handguns, belongings from them. Taken were two purses and cell phone.
November 1: Devon St. and Mt. Pleasant Ave., 7:35 a.m. – Complainant approached by offenders with two silver .22 caliber handguns, demanded belongings. Taken was Nikon digital camera.
November 1: Boyer St. and Mt. Airy Ave., 12 a.m. – Two offenders with handguns took items from complainant. Taken were Como backpack, CD player, CDs and work hat and gloves.
November 4: 6400 block Ardleigh St., 12:15 a.m. – Complainant stated that offender attempted to rob him with a silver .25 handgun. Complainant shot in left arm by offender. Complainant took gun from offender, ran home and called police. Complainant taken to hospital for treatment.
November 5: 400 block West Durham St., 3:26 p.m. – Complainant approached by offender who punched her in  forehead, took  purse and fled westbound toward Cherokee St.
November 6: 400 block Glen Echo Rd., 10:45 p.m. – Complainant  getting a bag out of car when she heard footsteps behind her. Offender put his hand over her mouth and demanded complainant’s wallet. Offender put a sharp object against her right rib area. Complainant complied. Taken were cash, driver’s license and ID cards.
November 6: 6600 block Greene St., 10:29 a.m. – Complainant approached by offender who grabbed purse and fled eastbound on Hortter St. Cell phone recovered at scene.Taken were Nintendo DS, games, debit card and Nintendo adapter.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
November 3: 200 block West Mt. Pleasant Ave., 11:49 a.m. – Police were assisting judicial officer evict alleged offender from location. Police knocked on door, identified themselves and asked alleged offender to come to door. Offender allegedly told officers to go away, at which point offender allegedly lunged at officers with a knife. Suspect arrested.
November 6: 6800 block Chew Ave., 6:40 p.m. – Complainant stated that he and offender were at location when offender started cursing at him. Complainant went outside and offender followed him, at which point offender allegedly stabbed complainant in left arm with a pair of tweezers. Complainant taken to hospital for treatment.
