Reprinted by permission of the Mt. Airy Times Express The following crimes were reported in Mt. Airy from November 30 to December 6, 2008. THEFT FROM AUTO,ATTEMPTED AUTO THEFT December 4: 300 block West Upsal St. – Offender allegedly took Gucci purse and tote bag from vehicle. Suspect arrested. Items recovered and returned. December 5: 6800 block Boyer St. – Passenger’s side door lock of 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix removed. Taken were toolbox and assorted tools. December 3: Unit block East Washington Ln. – Brown 1987 Jeep Cherokee broken into. STOLEN AUTO December 4: 7100 block Sprague St. – Complainants responded to call of offenders stripping a 1995 Chevy Impala. Upon arrival, offenders had fled. Vehicle had been previously stolen. BURGLARY December 2: 7100 block McCallum St. – Complainant returned home to find rear door forced open, door frame pulled away from walls and master bedroom drawers pulled out. Unknown what was taken. December 2: Unit block West Upsal St. – Complainant stated that property entered through unlocked living room window. Taken were stainless gas stove, kitchen aid, and stainless steel refrigerator. December 3: 6800 block Chew Ave., 8 a.m. – Complainant noticed back door kicked in, gained entry to location. Clothes were strewn about the room. Nothing taken. THEFT December 1: 6300 block Chew Ave., 12:30 a.m. – Complainant stated that she awoke to find a note from acquaintance and cash missing. December 1: Germantown Ave. and West Sedgwick St., 10:21 a.m. – Complainant stated that while her son was at playground, unknown offender took his duffle bag. Taken were clothes and two T-Mobile cell phones. December 6: 100 block Meehan Ave. – Complainant stated that acquaintance allegedly took cash from location without permission. ROBBERY None reported this time period. AGGRAVATED ASSAULT December 6: 100 block East Hortter St., 1:02 a.m. – Complainant alleged that acquaintance was intoxicated, cut complainant on neck and middle finger with knife, threw barbecue grill at him.
